The Provo to Nebo Corridor Study kicked off in April 2008. The major phases and milestones of the project are reflected on the diagram below. This page provides study progress updates and highlights upcoming meetings and input opportunities. We encourage you to check back here to stay informed and get involved!

Transportation Summit
A Transportation Summit was held with Southern Utah County elected officials and staff in June to kick off the study with communities in the region. Click here for Summit materials.

Working Group and Other Stakeholder Meetings

Two Working Groups (North and South) were created to provide input to the Corridor Study comprised of local staff, environmental agencies and other stakeholder groups. The Working Groups met this summer and fall and will meet again in February. See issues covered in these meetings below.

Mountainland Association of Governments Transportation Open Houses
The project team hosted a Provo to Nebo Corridor Study station at MAG's annual Transportation Open Houses on October 15 in Orem and October 16 in Payson. At the Payson Open House participants were able to visit an expanded set of work stations presenting the goals, potential alignments, and community and environmental data for each corridor (West, South, Spanish Fork). Click here for MAG Open House summary and materials.

What's coming up next?
The team has analyzed existing conditions in the corridor and is modeling socioeconomic and development scenarios and evaluating alignments for the corridor. This work is incorporating the input received at the stakeholder meetings that have been held this summer and fall.

Additional working group and stakeholder meetings will be held in early 2009. We would like for you to give us your input by visiting the Public Comment page on this website and attending one of the February meetings. Input from stakeholders is vital to ensure that the forecasts and corridor preservation plans accurately reflect the vision for each community within the study area.
